European Information Centre

EMU Library signed an agreement with EU in February 1997 and became a European Information Centre.  This Centre is well equipped, and it is arranged to meet the requirements of different research groups in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Publications sent by EU is kept separate from the main collection as a European Information Center.  Prof. Dr. Hasan A.Bıçak  is responsible for its management and İncilay Gürakar is responsible for organizing and operating the centre.

  L Series: Legislation. C Series: Information, notices and preparatory EU legislation and current value of ECU. S Series : Invitation for public tenders. Community laws are formed in a three fold process in accordance with the Rome Treaty. Commissions makes suggestions (COM documents) and the Council finalizes the suggestions after consult with Parliament (European Parliament Reports).
• Directory of Community Legislation on Force and Other Acts of the Community Institutions.
  It is updated every 6 month. It gives laws in force and directives according to subject reference. Bulletin of the European Union is an effective way to follow up daily developments.
